An official meeting between the Representative Office of the World Peoples Assembly in Ethiopia and the Ethiopian Peace, Development and Prosperity Organization (EPDPO) took place on 14 October 2026 in Addis Ababa. The parties discussed prospects for cooperation, including participation of Ethiopian partners in the upcoming series of monthly public diplomacy sessions.

The organization’s youth network, which brings together more than 3.1 million participants across the country, was of particular interest to the Representative Office. It was precisely with this powerful resource that the World Peoples Assembly proposed joining efforts for joint projects.

During the meeting the Representative Office delegation spoke about the World Peoples Assembly, an international platform that brings together representatives of civil society, scientists and public figures to develop dialogue among peoples.

The participants then discussed the series of public diplomacy sessions. This free online program will begin in October 2026 and run until January 2027: four monthly meetings on Google Meet, where speakers will discuss public and digital diplomacy and the role of Ethiopia in Global South partnerships.

Professors, diplomats and leading experts will take part in the program. All participants will receive certificates of participation. The series will conclude with a solemn online ceremony on 29 January 2027. More than 200 people are expected to take part in the program.

The Ethiopian Peace, Development and Prosperity Organization is one of the country’s leading non-profit organizations. Its headquarters are located in Addis Ababa, and its activities cover all regions of Ethiopia. It works in three key areas: peacebuilding and reconciliation, sustainable development and support for youth initiatives. The scale of its activities is impressive: according to the organization itself, more than 1.2 million young people are involved in peace and development programs, over 12,000 have been trained as youth leaders, and 187 enterprises have received start-up support.

The World Peoples Assembly proposed that EPDPO would assist in attracting young participants, integrating the series into the organization’s regional networks and partnering within the program. Both parties welcomed the idea of cooperation; discussions on the details will continue.
