2013
The birth of an idea
As part of the activities of the Assembly of Peoples of Russia, the professional, public, and expert communities are developing the idea of expanding humanitarian dialogue beyond national borders and creating an international public platform capable of uniting peoples on the basis of trust, spiritual and moral values, and the desire for peace
2016
Start of implementation
On November 2, 2016, Russia hosted the first Forum of the Peoples of Russia and Eurasia, which brought together participants from 12 countries.
The forum became the starting point for the formation of a public integration model for Eurasian cooperation.
Following the forum, a decision was made to hold the First Congress of the Assembly of the Peoples of Eurasia in 2017
2017
Establishment of the Eurasian Peoples' Assembly
On May 27-30, 2017, Moscow hosted the First Congress of the Eurasian Peoples' Assembly, a landmark event that brought together more than 2,500 participants from 67 countries.
At the founding meeting, the International Union of Non-Governmental Organizations “Assembly of Eurasian Peoples” was created and its governing bodies were elected:
- Secretary General — Andrei Belyaninov
- First Deputy Secretary General — Svetlana Smirnova
- Co-chairs from Russia (Igor Khalievinsky), India (Dalbir Singh), and France (Bernard Loze).
Thus began the history of an organization dedicated to building trust and unity through public diplomacy.
2021
Reaching a new level
On July 9, 2021, the General Assembly of the Peoples of Eurasia was held in Moscow with the support of the United Nations Information Center.
The Assembly received greetings from:

⦁ UNESCO Director-General Audrey Azoulay
The Assembly has gained international recognition as an important platform for public diplomacy
2024
Assembly of the Peoples of Eurasia and Africa
On April 23, 2024, by decision of the General Assembly, the organization was renamed the “Assembly of the Peoples of Eurasia and Africa,” reflecting a qualitative expansion of its geographical scope and the beginning of a new stage of international humanitarian cooperation with the states of the African continent
2025
Assembly of the Peoples of the World
May 28, 2025, was a historic day for the Assembly.
At the Reporting and Election General Assembly, the organization was renamed the Assembly of the Peoples of the World, bringing together representatives from more than 60 countries.
A development strategy for 2030 and a new version of the Charter were adopted, reflecting the global scale of the organization's mission.
2025
First World Public Assembly
On September 20–21, 2025, Moscow hosted the First World Public Assembly "A New World of Conscious Unity," bringing together over 4,500 participants from 153 countries. The extensive program featured 40+ thematic sessions. More than 70 cooperation agreements were signed with international organizations. For the first time, the ceremony of the World Public Recognition Award "For Service to Humanity" was held. The award ceremony for the laureates of the IV International Contest "Leader of People's Diplomacy — 2025" also took place. The outcome of this collaborative effort, open dialogue, and deep reflection was the adoption of final documents reflecting the key ideas and values of the World Public Assembly:

World Public Recognition Award "For Service to Humanity"
The World Public Assembly hosted for the first time the ceremony of the World Public Recognition Award "For Service to Humanity." The award was established by the World Peoples Assembly and is presented for outstanding contributions to strengthening peace among nations, advancing humanitarian cooperation, and selfless dedication to the ideals of humanity.
2026
Annual and Regional World Public Summits
In furtherance of the decisions of the First World Public Assembly, a program of annual World Public Summits has been launched, as well as regional World Public Summits to be held in various regions of the world.
