The World Peoples Assembly Held a Meeting with the Rector of the Russian State University of Tourism and Service

A meeting between the World Peoples Assembly and the Rector of the Russian State University of Tourism and Service (RGUTIS) took place on June 24, 2026, as part of the project "International Cooperation in the Development of Tourism and the Hospitality Industry."

In early 2026, RGUTIS, led by Rector Ambartsum Galustov, together with the administration of Khabarovsk Krai and Governor Dmitry Demeshin, launched Russia's first educational accelerator in the field of tourism, titled "Development and Promotion of Tourism Business Projects with Consideration for Territorial Development." It brought together representatives of the tourism industry and municipal structures. The common goal of the educational accelerator is to create competitive tourism projects capable of transforming the landscape of the region's territories and the foreign border regions of the Far East. The program's consultant is Marina Yartseva, Minister of Tourism of Khabarovsk Krai.

Tatiana Krivosheeva, Vice-Rector of RGUTIS, expert in tourism territory development and strategic tourism marketing, spoke in detail about the project and particularly noted that the Far East possesses a wealth of resources for the development of international tourism, which are currently undervalued and not properly integrated into the tourism turnover.

— This is a huge potential waiting to be tapped. One of the key tasks of the project is to bring businesses and municipalities together, to search for new ideas, and to create joint international projects, — she noted.

Tatiana Avgusmanova, Head of the Sustainable Development Directorate of the World Peoples Assembly, emphasized the need for close and substantive cooperation in the development of international tourism products, routes, and logistics segments.

— Experience shows that the natural and cultural potential of regions and their neighboring countries is often not fully taken into account when developing the infrastructure environment for international tourism routes, — noted the expert. — The initiatives of RGUTIS are becoming part of a systematic effort to develop a modern Russian tourism ecosystem. These are among the initiatives that are currently ready for discussion in the international arena.
