UNESCO Director-General expressed Gratitude to Andrey Belyaninov

UNESCO Director-General Khaled El-Enany sent a letter of thanks to the Secretary General of the World Peoples Assembly Andrey Belyaninov in response to congratulations on his election to the post of UNESCO Director-General.

Dear Sir,

I would like to warmly thank you, and through you the World Peoples Assembly, for your kind congratulations following my election as Director-General of UNESCO.

I am deeply honoured by the trust that has been vested in me. I am fully aware that the Member States voted not for a person, but for a collective ambition and a demanding vision, which I intend to serve with great determination.

I am committed to advancing the Organization's mission in the service of human dignity, mutual understanding and lasting peace, including through the promotion of dialogue among cultures, the safeguarding of our shared heritage and the advancement of sustainable development, to build a UNESCO that is resolutely “for the People.”
