Headquarters of the World Peoples Assembly hosted the Meeting of the Representatives of Russian Public Organizations with the Delegation from Chinese city of Yiyang

A friendly meeting between representatives of Russian public organizations and a delegation from Yiyang city in the People’s Republic of China, took place on August 24, 2026, at the headquarters of the World Peoples Assembly in Moscow.

Participants included:

• Svetlana Smirnova - Chairperson of the World Peoples Assembly General Council;  

• Timur Arutyunov - Advisor to the Secretary General of the World Peoples Assembly; President of the International Communication Project Hub; Vice President of the All-Russian Federation of Indoor Football; Deputy Chairman of the Executive Committee of the Interstate Union of Hero Cities;  

• Artem Bitte - Assistant to the Russian Federation Senator and First Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council Committee on Social Policy, A.G. Varfolomeev; Deputy Chairman of the Commission of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Krasnodar Territory for the Middle East and Africa;  

• Anastasia Buyankina - Head of the «Zdorovoe otechestvo» (eng. «Healthy Motherland») Movement in Crimea and Sevastopol; Assistant to a Deputy of the Sevastopol Legislative Assembly;  

• Viktoria Zhiguleva - Advisor to a Shareholder of the “TEN” Group of Companies;  

• Alexey Lyubimov — Doctor of Law, Professor; Editor-in-Chief of the “Representative Power” magazine; Head of the Strategy Center; Member of the Expert Council of the State Duma of the Russian Federation; Scientific Supervisor of the Expert Council of the “Russian Parliamentarian” Club; Deputy Chairman of the Presidium of the Russian Academy of Sciences Council on AI Methodology; Member of the Intersectoral Coordinating Council of the Russian Academy of Sciences on Spatial Development; Academician of the Russian Municipal Academy;  

• Yury Razudalov - Assistant to Deputy Chairman of the State Duma of the Russian Federation, Petr Tolstoy; Deputy of the Maryino Municipal Formation;  

• Evgeny Rozenblit — Assistant to First Deputy Chairperson of the State Duma of the Russian Federation, Ivan Melnikov; Chairperson of the Sverdlovsk Regional Branch of the Russia-China Friendship Society; Vice President of the Union of Small and Medium Businesses of Sverdlovsk Oblast;  

• Mikhail Sobolev - Chairperson of the Chamber of Young Legislators under the Federation Council of the Russian Federation;  

• Kirill Terentyev - Member of the Council of Deputies of the Odintsovo Urban District, Moscow Oblast; Member of the Political Party "United Russia";  

• Cui Jianping - Deputy Chairman of the Yiyang Municipal People's Congress Standing Committee (Hunan Province, PRC);  

• Hu Zuosong - Chairman of the Heshan District People's Congress Standing Committee (Yiyang City);  

• Xiong Zhiyuan - Chairman of the Ziyang District People's Congress Standing Committee (Yiyang City);  

• Li Zhenyan - Deputy Chairman of the China Council for the Promotion of Trade (Yiyang City);  

• Li Min Anhua - Director of the Bureau of Agriculture and Rural Affairs (Yiyang City);  

• Zhao Wei - Chairperson of the Yuanjiang High-tech Industrial Development Zone Administrative Committee (Yiyang City);  

• Zhao Bin - Special Representative for International Friendship in Hunan Province; Executive Chairperson of the Hunan–Russia General Chamber of Commerce.

During the meeting, Alexey Lyubimov and Mikhail Sobolev shared their legislative experience and outlined Russian practices in cooperation between regional and municipal parliaments. Svetlana Smirnova and Evgeny Rozenblit devoted their speeches to the development of public diplomacy and interethnic relations.

The Chinese delegation’s response speeches addressed trade, investment, and the development of industrial clusters. Cui Jianping and Zhao Bin spoke about practical cooperation mechanisms and high‑tech development zones.

- Cooperation with China is a strategically important direction, - emphasized Svetlana Smirnova. This meeting became a platform for exchanging views and concrete proposals to shape a «roadmap» for future steps. We see great potential in expanding trade and investment, as well as parliamentary and municipal cooperation between our countries.

Cui Jianping highlighted the crucial role of public organizations in strengthening mutual understanding between Russia and the China.

Summing up the meeting, the representatives of the parties expressed their readiness to develop contacts and emphasized their mutual interest in cooperation.
