A meeting between the leadership of the World Peoples Assembly and American public figure Joseph Wolf - son of Joe Polowsky, a participant in the historic 1945 meeting of Soviet and American troops on the Elbe - was held on October 26, 2026, at the World Peoples Assembly headquarters in Moscow.

The event was also attended by:

  • Andrei Belyaninov - Secretary General of the World Peoples Assembly;

  • Polina Popova - Chief Specialist of the Directorate for the Preservation of Historical Memory of the World Peoples Assembly;

  • Matvey Belyak - student of the Diplomatic Academy of MGIMO, member of the team of the International Movement “Spirit of the Elbe.”

In a warm, friendly atmosphere, the parties discussed practical steps to preserve the memory of the Allied countries, in particular the launch and further operation of the international peace movement “Spirit of the Elbe.”

Summing up the meeting, Andrei Belyaninov emphasized the World Peoples Assembly’s readiness for cooperation.

- The international peace movement “Spirit of the Elbe” is our sign of trust, of cooperation for the sake of peace. The doors of the Assembly are open to all who are ready to work together in this direction, – he noted.

Joseph Wolf shared his personal impressions of his visit to Moscow.

- The capital made a huge impression on me. I managed to go on a tour of the Kremlin, the Diamond Fund and the Armoury Chamber. I also went down into the metro – I was struck by the stations and their history. It is a great pity that on this trip I have little time to get to know the city, - he noted.

The talks at the World Peoples Assembly headquarters became not merely an exchange of ideas but a starting point for extensive joint work for years to come. The participants confirmed: genuine dialogue between peoples is possible only when it relies on common values and deep respect for shared history. It is precisely such initiatives that become the living bridges along which Russia, the USA, Germany and other countries can confidently move toward each other in the 21st century.
