Art as the oldest and most honest way of communication between people was discussed at the World Public Assembly
The round table "Visual Dialogue: Values Without Borders" took place on 18 September 2026 at the World Trade Center. The event became part of the Second World Public Assembly "New World: Values That Unite", taking place in Moscow from 18 to 19 September.
The key topic of the discussion was art as a universal language capable of overcoming any barriers and building a direct, living dialogue between representatives of different cultures. Participants discussed how, through artistic imagery, one can convey human values, preserve cultural identity and introduce new generations to the centuries-old heritage of different peoples.
— Culture develops dialogue: the more common themes we have, the more points of contact. It is the unconditional foundation of our future. We are one family, we have a common home, and although each has its own traditions, our goals are common — a happy future for our children. Visual art is one of the best means of transmitting the centuries-old traditions of our peoples. This is a universal language that does not require translation, noted Indian artist Raj Kumar. According to him, it is precisely the language of art that makes it possible to pass on the beauty and heritage of Russia, India, China and other countries to the next generations.

Irina Kovalenko — Head of the international art project "Art Caravan: Dialogue of Cultures".
The participants of the round table concluded that cultural diplomacy is acquiring key significance in conditions when traditional channels of international communication face barriers. Joint exhibitions, creative projects and direct contacts between artists make it possible to preserve dialogue between societies and at the same time showcase the cultural diversity of the modern world. This approach directly resonates with the key idea of the Second World Public Assembly: true unity does not mean abandoning differences. On the contrary, it is precisely respect for national traditions and the ability to hear the culture of another that become a solid foundation for international trust and cooperation.
