The signing of a memorandum of understanding between the World Peoples Assembly and the Egyptian-African Businessmen Association (EABA) took place on September 23, 2026. The ceremony was held online and connected Moscow and Cairo.

The agreement consolidates a long-term partnership between the organizations and continues the work of the World Peoples Assembly to strengthen humanitarian and business ties between Russia and African countries.

The document was signed by Sergei Khanutin, Executive Director of the World Peoples Assembly, and Yousrey El-Sharkawi, Chairman of the Board of Directors of EABA.

The Egyptian-African Businessmen Association is a non-profit organization established to develop trade and economic ties between Egypt and other African countries. The association holds conferences, exhibitions, and other business events dedicated to Egyptian-African economic cooperation, provides consulting and technical support to entrepreneurs working in African markets, organizes exchanges of delegations, and also supports women's entrepreneurship and promotes the economic rights of women.

The parties agreed to develop international ties through public diplomacy, support peacekeeping initiatives of civil society and the state, combine efforts in the scientific, educational, and cultural spheres, promote the harmonization of interethnic and interfaith relations, work with young people, and advance joint business, investment, and trade projects.

The memorandum lists practical formats of cooperation: joint forums, scientific and practical conferences, round tables, seminars and discussion platforms, exchange of experience, organizational and informational support for each other's events, business projects and trade initiatives of mutual interest, as well as regular working meetings. The parties will also form a common information base and report on joint initiatives through their information resources.

Following the signing, Sergei Khanutin noted:

– Today Africa is not the periphery of the world economy, but a space where new rules of partnership are being formed. The World Peoples Assembly works where business interest meets the human dimension – culture, education, youth, trust between people. The memorandum with EABA opens for our Egyptian and other African colleagues a direct path to Russian public platforms, and for Russian participants – to Egyptian ones.

Yousrey El-Sharkawi thanked his colleagues and emphasized the practical nature of the agreements reached.

– Our association unites entrepreneurs who work with Africa not in words but in deeds. Cooperation with the World Peoples Assembly brings to business what is indispensable for building long-term relations: a deep understanding of cultures and living human connections. We see great potential for joint projects, – the Egyptian leader stated.

The signing of the document continues the World Peoples Assembly’s course toward expanding humanitarian and business dialogue between Russia and African countries.
