On March 23, 2026, in New Delhi, the meeting of the Scientific Expert Council of the World Peoples Assembly took place. The event became a part of the regional World Public Summit: India "New World: India in the architecture of a shared future." The Summit was organized by the World Peoples Assembly and the BRICS Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

Among the key issues for discussion were:

  • Geopolitics and security in the new era;

  • Ecology and sustainable development;

  • Technology and the future of humanity;

  • The humanitarian dimension and values;

  • The economy of the future.

The Public Summit in India opened a series of regional summits planned to be held in the Arab World, Latin America, Africa and Europe in 2026.

  • India, with its unique example of reverence for traditional values, spiritual heritage, and rapid technological progress, has enormous influence as one of the major geopolitical centers of a multipolar world, President of BRICS in 2026 and an active participant in key international initiatives - said Svetlana Smirnova, Chairman of the General Council of the World Peoples Assembly.

In her speech, she noted that the modern world is undergoing an era of profound and largely crisis-ridden transformations. They create not only new opportunities, but also significant risks for sustainable development. No State, no single organization or society, much less a person, is able to fend off these challenges alone. Therefore, there is a growing need to consolidate the efforts of the global scientific and expert community to develop and implement international scientific and public initiatives that follow the principle of collective responsibility for the fate of humanity and the prevention of destructive actions.

The meeting of the Scientific Expert Council in New Delhi was a continuation of the implementation of global humanitarian initiatives adopted at the First World Public Assembly in September 2025. Organizational tasks were devoted to the formation of the Council's regional community in India and the identification of new opportunities for cooperation.

The meeting was moderated by Alexander Ageev, Chairman of the Scientific and Expert Council of the World Peoples Assembly, Director General of the International Research Institute of Management Problems, member of the Club of Rome.

During the discussion, experts and public figures from India, Russia, France, Hungary and Serbia also discussed the draft Delhi Declaration, which reflects the common vision of the regional Summit’s participants and is India's contribution to the preparation of the Second World Public Summit in Moscow in September 2026 on the International Day of Peace.

  • Following the today's meeting, thanks to our Indian colleagues, the register of initiatives of the Scientific Expert Council of the Assembly will be doubled, I think, to 20 projects. Moreover, each initiative has already been worked out, it has responsible persons. Around each initiative we form a kind of cocoon of supportive energy that helps them develop, it’s a bit like raising a baby. Progress in the initiatives and mutual understanding of all participants has become very noticeable today, - Alexander Ageev said after the event.

The World Peoples Assembly is an international union of non-governmental organizations that forms a humanitarian platform for cooperation between the peoples of the world based on trust, mutual respect and common values.
