The Panel Session "Culture of Trust: An Economy Built on Values" was held at the Moscow Government Forum in New Delhi
The panel session "Culture of Trust: An Economy Built on Values" was held on March 24, 2026, at the Oberoi New Delhi in New Delhi. The event was organized by the World Peoples Assembly and the Department of Foreign Economic and International Relations of the City of Moscow as part of the Moscow Government Forum in India.
The session focused on one of the key topics of modern international dialogue: the role of trust as a strategic resource for sustainable development. The focus was on the formation of a value-based framework for economic cooperation, strengthening partnerships between states, businesses, and society, and finding practical approaches to developing an economy that focuses not only on growth but also on the quality of human relations, responsibility, and long-term stability.
The discussion was moderated by Alexander Ageev, Deputy Secretary-General, Chairman of the Scientific and Expert Council of the World Peoples Assembly, and General Director of the International Research Institute for Management Problems.
Svetlana Smirnova, Chairperson of the General Council of the World Peoples Assembly, addressed the participants with a welcoming speech. In her speech, she emphasized the importance of people-to-people diplomacy in building trust between countries, societies, and businesses, and invited the forum participants to join the World Public Summit: India "New World: India in the Architecture of a Shared Future." Additionally, Svetlana Smirnova invited interested participants to collaborate within the international business community "Trust and Unity."
During the Session, international experts shared their perspectives on trust as the basis of modern economies and humanitarian cooperation. Managing Partner of WIPPD Ltd, former Malaysian Parliament Senator Jaziri Alqaf Abdillah Suffian, spoke on the topic “The Tibu Effect: Interacting in High-Stakes and Risk-Taking Environments”. In his speech, he provided a vivid example from a Malaysian children’s game, which cannot be played without trust. This became a striking metaphor for trust as a necessary condition for interaction, not only between individuals but also between countries, especially in situations where serious decisions and high levels of responsibility are at stake.
Valeurs Ajoutées Magazine Editor-in-Chief, President of Global Horizon Group, Partner and Managing Director of Fiscal.com Group Marlise Ndjenga highlighted the impact of trust on investment attractiveness and entrepreneurship development in African countries.
Co-Chair of FICCI Advisory Board for the States of Punjab, Himachal Pradesh and Haryana, Managing Director of Yadu Corporation Kunal Yadav highlighted the role of major business associations in building trust between national economies and business communities across different countries.
Global Strategist at JSP Communications Canada, Phil Osagi, also spoke on the topic of the session. He emphasized the importance of trust as a prerequisite for effective international dialogue and sustainable partnerships in today's world.
The participants discussed what values can serve as the foundation for trust-based relationships in politics, economics, and public life, and how trust affects the investment climate and the sustainability of national economies. Special attention was given to the shared responsibility of business, government, and civil society in fostering a culture of trust as a crucial factor in building a sustainable and just world.
The panel session was prepared and held with the active participation of members of the Council for International Economic Activity of the World Peoples Assembly.
