World Public Summit in Addis Ababa was discussed at Press Conference

A press conference of the Organizing Committee of the Third World Public Summit, to be held in Addis Ababa on July 29–30, 2026, took place on July 24, 2026. The event was held in a hybrid (online/offline) format and brought together representatives of more than 20 African media outlets.

The Head of the Summit Organizing Committee, Deputy Executive Director of the World Peoples Assembly Yanina Dubeykovskaya, presented to journalists the cycle of Public Summits held by the organization in various countries and regions of the world with the aim of consolidating the efforts of civil society leaders and humanitarian initiatives.

Yanina Dubeykovskaya emphasized:

— The upcoming Summit in Africa will launch joint projects among participants, in particular, the international research project "Zambezi: Economy, Society, Soul," which will be implemented in six African countries with the support of Russian experts.

Yanina Dubeykovskaya also announced that the Summit will feature the awards ceremony for laureates of the "Leader of Public Diplomacy" prize, the "Unity" contemporary African art exhibition, and a concert at the Adwa Memorial Complex.

Based on the outcomes of the Summit, the African Communique will be prepared and adopted — a final document reflecting the agreed positions of participants on key issues of continental development and further international cooperation. The organizers separately highlighted the philosophy of Ubuntu — "I am because we are" — as the foundational value of the Summit, expressing the idea of unity among countries and peoples while preserving their differences.

Speaking to journalists, the Executive Director of the organization Serve Global in Ethiopia, Tariku Nagash, drew attention to the importance of public diplomacy as a tool for building trusting relationships between people and nations.

— Such dialogue formats enable states to directly meet and discuss the most significant issues on the global agenda, overcoming the barriers of official diplomacy and fostering long-term trust between countries.

The expert also noted that Africa, as a continent with one of the highest demographic and economic growth potentials, is called upon to play an important role in shaping the common future of humanity based on the principles of equal partnership and mutual respect.

The press conference became an important step in the media coverage of the upcoming World Public Summit in Africa and confirmed the high interest of African media in the work of the World Peoples Assembly on the continent.
