Rustam Sharipov, Acting Head of the Administration of the Ufa City District, held a meeting in late July 2026 with the activists of the Representative Office of the World Peoples Assembly in the Republic of Bashkortostan (Russia) and the Ufa People's University of the Third Age. The event, held under the slogan "Ufa – the Capital of Active Longevity," served as a platform for open discussion of important city initiatives.

The meeting was actively attended by deputies of the State Assembly – Kurultai of the Republic of Bashkortostan, Shamil Timerbulatov and Rustem Akhmadinurov, as well as representatives of the relevant committees of the Representative Office of the World Peoples Assembly: Ruslan Kinzikeev, Elio Capiello, Ruslan Syrtlanov, Alexander Filippov, Marsel Salimov, Lilia Makina, Dmitry Tarakanov, Elvira Rakhmankulova, and many others. Their participation lent the discussion an intersectoral, interethnic, and socially significant character.

Those gathered discussed the proposal of the Committee for Improvement and Territorial Development of the Representative Office to create a new landmark location in the republic's capital – the "Alley of Friendship." Supporting the initiative, Rustam Sharipov noted:

— We see representatives of the older generation and public associations as our main partners and allies. The city is open to constructive initiatives, whether it be the creation of new cultural spaces or the development of an accessible environment. The concept of the "Alley of Friendship" is in tune with the spirit of our multinational region, and we are ready to consider including this facility in the program for developing public spaces.

Rustam Sharipov emphasized that Ufa is currently developing at an accelerated pace, giving priority attention to social and sports infrastructure for the older generation. Citing specific examples, he recalled that "the Ufa team took second place in the republican stage of the Pensioners' Spartakiada, held on July 4–6, 2026," and also dwelt in detail on support measures for active senior citizens.

Also, he addressed the issue of popularizing the GTO (Ready for Labor and Defense) complex:

— Senior citizens who pass the GTO standards receive certificates worth 10,000 rubles for visiting sports facilities. In 2025, 49 such certificates were issued to Ufa residents.

Rustam Sharipov promised that the municipality would continue annual grant support for public and veteran initiatives, and would also strengthen information and explanatory work to protect the elderly from cyber fraudsters.

Representatives of the World Peoples Assembly also put forward an initiative to publish a new gift educational collection dedicated to multinational Ufa – as a continuation of the successful project "Ufa Literary". The city administration expressed its readiness to provide informational and organizational support for the project:

— Preserving and promoting the cultural diversity of the capital of Bashkortostan is an important area of joint work with public associations.

A separate block of discussion was devoted to the development of accessible recreational sports for elderly citizens on the basis of municipal facilities. Participants supported the idea of holding a football tournament for the Cup of the Head of the Administration among teams of public associations on City Day, which, in their words, "can strengthen social ties and the involvement of the older generation."

A significant part of the meeting was devoted to "live" issues raised directly by the participants. The focus was on pressing urban problems: transparency in utility bill calculations, road surface conditions, transport accessibility, as well as the pace and quality of improvement of residential and yard areas.

Summing up the event, Rustam Sharipov instructed the relevant divisions of the Ufa City Administration to take control of the elaboration of the initiatives voiced, provide substantive answers to the everyday issues raised by the meeting participants, and prepare specific proposals for their practical implementation.

— The city authorities are open to constructive cooperation, and such meetings help us better hear people's needs, – he emphasized.

An important element of the program was a tour of the Ufa People's University of the Third Age. It was conducted by deputy Rustem Akhmadinurov, Dmitry Trapeznikov, Executive Secretary of the Representative Office of the World Peoples Assembly in the Republic of Bashkortostan (Russia), and Marat Biglov, head of the People's University of the Third Age. The guests familiarized themselves with the activities of creative and patriotic associations, visited venues where groups are engaged in weaving camouflage nets, as well as national interest clubs.

Today, more than 26 different club groups successfully operate within the university's walls, including those uniting the older generation. Meeting participants noted that "such a center is becoming a real magnet for active people who want to be useful to their city and republic."
