American Historian Peter Kuznick will Chair the Jury of the "Pobedili Vmeste" Film Festival
American historian Peter Kuznick, author of numerous books and a professor at American University in Washington, will chair the jury of the international competition of the XXI "Pobedili Vmeste" (“We won together”) International Film Festival named after Vladimir Menshov. The grand documentary film review will take place in Moscow and Sochi in the fall of 2026.
Peter Kuznick is widely known as the co-author, with director Oliver Stone, of the large-scale documentary series and book "The Untold History of the United States." In addition, the expert is well acquainted with the Russian film industry: he previously served as chairman of the documentary film competition jury at the 47th Moscow International Film Festival.
Founder and president of the "Pobedili Vmeste" festival, president of the Eurasian Academy of Television and Radio Valery Ruzin said:
— The involvement of a world-renowned scholar is natural for the status of the "Pobedili Vmeste" festival — today it is the largest documentary film review in Russia, created in memory of the common military feat of the Second World War participant countries.
The film review focuses on protecting historical truth and truthfully reflecting the complexities of today.
The "Pobedili Vmeste" festival is the largest documentary film review in Russia with authoritative international participation, organized by the World Peoples Assembly and the Eurasian Academy of Television and Radio. Since 2005, events have been held in Sevastopol, Volgograd, Sochi, Moscow, and other Russian cities. Despite sanctions, in 2025 over 650 films from 50 countries registered for the film review.
The festival's themes are constantly expanding and absorbing contemporary realities. Special emphasis is placed on work with youth and the educational component. Within the framework of the festival, a year-round Film Marathon, a "documentary media school," specialized master classes, and other events are organized.
Submissions for the XXI International Film Festival "Pobedili Vmeste" named after Vladimir Menshov are open until July 30 on the festival's official website.
