The meeting of the World Peoples Assembly’s leadership with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Yemen to the Russian Federation Ahmed Salem Al-Wahishi took place on February 18, 2026 at the Moscow headquarters of the World Peoples Assembly.

Secretary General Andrey Belyaninov and Chairperson of the General Council Svetlana Smirnova took part in the event on behalf of the World Peoples Assembly.

The parties discussed prospects for cooperation in the humanitarian sphere.

– For me, this meeting was a great opportunity to learn more about the various activities of the World Peoples Assembly. I was also pleased to congratulate Secretary General Andrey Belyaninov on the successful holding of the World Public Assembly "New World of Conscious Unity" in September 2025. It was a global event, and it was a great honor for us to participate in it. We are very much looking forward to the next event in Moscow – the World Public Summit "New World: Values that Unite". The role of the World Peoples Assembly in public diplomacy is invaluable – humanitarian initiatives, especially youth work, and much more. The Republic of Yemen intends to sign some very important documents to strengthen our cooperation. We also discussed the upcoming celebration of the centenary of friendship between our countries. I am sure that numerous graduates of Soviet and Russian universities, representatives of the cultural elite of the country will definitely want to celebrate this important anniversary," - said Ahmed Salem Al-Wahishi following the meeting.
