Cosmos, Angels, Murals: A Series of Events organized by the "Unity" Charity Foundation at the World Public Summit: Latin America
The “Unity” Charity Foundation for the Support of Cancer Patients organized several events within the framework of the World Public Summit: Latin America "New World: Latin America in Shaping a Shared Future", held in Salvador (Brazil) on June 16-17.
On June 16, the “Unity” Foundation organized the International panel session "Space Without Borders: Uniting the World through Education, Science and Humanitarian Partnership."
The session was moderated by Alyona Kuzmenko, President of the Unity Foundation.
The speakers were:
William Schneider Rabello - Coordinator of the Unity Foundation in Latin America, researcher in space technology (Brazil);
Jorge Elias Salazar Guzman - Director of the astronomical Foundation Grupo Apollo Foundation, Ambassador of the Cubes in Space program in Latin America (Colombia);
Pedro Pallotta - CEO of Space Orbit (Brazil);
Lucia Maria Ferreira Lima - Coordinator of the civil science direction of the Nicolinha&Kids project, Director of the ExploraMarte project, Ambassador of the Instituto Geração de Marte (Brazil).
The participants discussed the role of space as a tool for international cooperation, the development of education, science and humanitarian initiatives. They paid special attention to educational, STEM, and social projects that help involve children and youth in science and technology, inspire a new generation of researchers, and strengthen international ties between countries, organizations, and people.
The session brought together more than 100 participants and became an important platform for professional dialogue and networking of specialists from Russia, Brazil, Colombia and other Latin American countries, contributing to the formation of new partnerships and the development of joint international projects.
The session was effectively ended with the presentation to the President of the Brazilian trade union Central dos Trabalhadores e Trabalhadoras do Brasil (CTB), Adilson Araujo, of a photograph of the city of Salvador from space, taken especially for the Summit by Roscosmos cosmonaut, Hero of Russia Sergey Kud-Sverchkov, who is currently on the International Space Station.
Another event of the “Unity” Foundation program was a visit to the Senai Cimatec Center for Technology, Education and Innovation together with the speakers of the space session.
The participants learned a lot about the Russian manned program and international humanitarian space initiatives.
On June 17, the awarding ceremony of the winners of the country stages of the V International Contest "Leader of Public Diplomacy" in Latin America took place.
