World Peoples Assembly Representative Office Presented in Telangana, India

The official presentation ceremony of the World Peoples Assembly Representative Office in the State of Telangana was held on 5 August 2026 in Hyderabad, Republic of India.
The event marked an important milestone in advancing international humanitarian cooperation and public diplomacy, bringing together representatives of government authorities, parliamentarians, heads of public corporations, academia, educational institutions, business, civil society organizations and the media from four Indian states—Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu—together with international partners of the World Peoples Assembly.
Following Indian tradition, the ceremony commenced with the Traditional Lamp Lighting Ceremony, attended by the Guests of Honour and distinguished participants. In Indian culture, this ceremonial ritual symbolizes the light of knowledge, wisdom, peace and new beginnings. It reflected the World Peoples Assembly's deep respect for India's rich cultural heritage and marked the beginning of the activities of its Representative Office in Telangana.
The Guest of Honour, Hon'ble Smt. Dansari Anasuya Seethakka, Cabinet Minister for Panchayati Raj & Rural Development, Rural Water Supply, Women and Child Welfare of the Government of Telangana, officially inaugurated the Representative Office.
In her address, Minister Seethakka emphasized the important role of public diplomacy, humanitarian cooperation and cultural exchange in strengthening mutual understanding among peoples. She noted that the long-standing friendship between India and Russia, built over many decades, continues to provide a strong foundation for expanding humanitarian, cultural and people-to-people cooperation. On behalf of the Hon'ble Chief Minister of Telangana, Shri A. Revanth Reddy, the Minister also conveyed her best wishes for the successful work of the Representative Office and for the further development of international cooperation.
Participants were also welcomed through online addresses by Mr. Andrey Belyaninov, Secretary General of the World Peoples Assembly, and Mrs. Svetlana Smirnova, Chairperson of the General Council of the World Peoples Assembly. In their remarks, they highlighted the growing importance of public diplomacy in today's international relations and emphasized that the establishment of the Representative Office in Telangana represents another important step in expanding the Assembly's international network and strengthening humanitarian cooperation with partners in India.
The strategic vision and Annual Work Plan for 2026–2027 were presented by Dr. Rayala Neetu Naidu, Head of the World Peoples Assembly Representative Office in Telangana. She noted that the Office will serve as an open platform for public diplomacy, international humanitarian cooperation and the implementation of joint initiatives with government institutions, universities, research centres, civil society organizations, youth associations and the business community.
Among the key priorities are organizing international conferences, leadership forums, cultural exchange programmes and humanitarian initiatives; empowering youth and women through leadership development, education, innovation and entrepreneurship; strengthening cooperation in healthcare, education, business, tourism, culture and sustainable development; building institutional partnerships; and expanding international dialogue through the media and public diplomacy.
The ceremony also featured addresses by Mr. Gangadhar Chilka, Assistant Director General, Ministry of Tourism, Government of India and Tourism Policy Expert; Dr. Nukasani Balaji, Chairman of the Andhra Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation; and Shri Damacharla Satyanarayana, Chairman of the Andhra Pradesh Maritime Board. The speakers expressed their strong support for the activities of the World Peoples Assembly and emphasized the importance of expanding international humanitarian cooperation, public diplomacy, sustainable tourism and interregional partnerships.
Particular attention was devoted to the development of international tourism cooperation as an effective instrument of public diplomacy. Participants emphasized that cultural, educational, business and medical tourism create new opportunities for people-to-people exchanges, strengthen mutual trust and contribute to sustainable international partnerships.
The Representative Office will facilitate the implementation of the World Peoples Assembly's flagship international programmes in India, including the national stage of the International Competition "Leader of Public Diplomacy", educational programmes of the University of Public Diplomacy, activities of the International Business Community "Trust and Unity", the development of a network of Young Leaders of Public Diplomacy, as well as international forums, conferences, round tables, cultural, educational and youth initiatives.
Participants also emphasized the significant potential for expanding cooperation among the southern states of India.
The Representative Office in Telangana is expected to become an important platform for developing partnerships and implementing joint projects with organizations and institutions across the country, thereby contributing to the further advancement of international humanitarian cooperation and public diplomacy.
