The Courage of a Special Military Operation Veteran and Plisetskaya’s Legacy: The Autumn “Won Together” Film Marathon has been launched in Krasnodar
The autumn “Won Together” Film Marathon was launched on October 11, 2026, at the L.N. Tolstoy Library in Krasnodar. The program opened with the documentary “20 Tons,” directed by Alexey Krivega and produced by Vyacheslav Kalinin. The film was awarded the “Hero of the Film” prize at the 20th International “We Won Together” Film Festival in 2025.
The film is dedicated to Evgeny Ivanov, a veteran of the special military operation. While carrying out a combat mission, he came under targeted drone fire and lost both legs. Evgeny did not give up; he found the strength to return to an active life and to sports, and after a month of intensive training he set himself a goal: to set a world record by moving a loaded railway car weighing more than 20 tons.
The hero’s story prompted a lively discussion with a youth audience about courage, mutual assistance and overcoming life’s trials.
On October 18, the film marathon continued with a second meeting - the event “Creative Route: Step by Step Toward Art and Cinema,” where audience was presented with the documentary “Maya Plisetskaya, Whom We Did Not Know”.
The film is dedicated to the personality and creative legacy of the great ballerina. Its author and director, a graduate of the Faculty of Journalism of BSU and Honored Journalist of Russia Nikolai Efimovich, had known Maya Plisetskaya for more than 25 years. He prepared a collection of interviews with the artist, as well as a book about her creative path for the famous “Life of Remarkable People” series of the Molodaya Gvardiya publishing house. The film’s high professionalism is also confirmed by the jury’s recognition: the film received the diploma “For the Best Film on Culture named after Svyatoslav Belza” at the 19th International “Won Together” Film Festival in Sochi.
The screenings were moderated by Alexander Elagin, academician of the Eurasian Academy of Television and Radio.
The “Won Together” film marathon will continue in Krasnodar and other cities across the country. The program includes the best festival films and meetings with their authors. For audience, this is a unique opportunity not only to see outstanding works but also to learn about the directors’ creative intent firsthand and to discuss important topics raised by contemporary documentary cinema.
The film festival is organized by the World Peoples Assembly, the Sochi City Administration, the Integration Production Center, the Eurasian Academy of Television and Radio and the Intellectual Resource company, with support from the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation.
