The Film "Testimony. The Children Whose Childhood Ended in an Instant..." about the Great Patriotic War will be shown in the I.S. Turgenev Library

Screening of the documentary "Testimony. The Children Whose Childhood Ended in an Instant ..." by Alexey Burykin will take place on June 18, 2026 at the I.S. Turgenev Library. The event is held within the framework of the Eurasian Documentary Film Club and will become part of the "Won Together" Film Marathon.

The film tells about 14 children of the Great Patriotic War, now they are famous artists, writers, teachers and ordinary people. Among the heroes of the film: actors Mikhail Nozhkin, Valentin Gaft, Vladimir Andreev, the creator of the Moscow State Academic Chamber Choir Vladimir Minin, writer Vyacheslav Rodionov, stage teacher Anna Petrova, artist Yuri Planidin, builder Ivan Starovoitov and others.

An experienced team of the center-studio of the national film "XXI century" worked on the film. The screenwriter and director of the film Alexey Burykin is a documentary filmmaker, winner of numerous film festivals, author of the films "Denikin", "The Afterlife of Albert Benois", "Being Vasily Zenkovsky", "Father and Sons", "Brother Azari" and many others. The composer is Anton Viskov, the operators are Ivan Alferov and Dmitry Protopopov, the producer is Alexander Gundorov.

After the screening, the film will be discussed with the director and one of his characters, Vyacheslav Rodionov, who survived the occupation in the small Cossack town of Kamensk–Shakhtinsk.

– Memories of this time left a deep unhealed mark in the hero's soul, and he shares this pain with readers in his book "The Long Echo of Childhood". Vyacheslav Rodionov is a vivid example of how the hardships experienced in childhood harden a person, make him a true citizen. All his actions are dictated by the desire to serve his native land and its people.

The evening will be hosted by Lina Bogatyr, Executive Director of the Eurasian Academy of Television and Radio, director of the International Film Festival "Won Together" named after Vladimir Menshov.

The film was created with the support of the Presidential Foundation for Cultural Initiatives.

The organizers of the show are the Eurasian Academy of Television and Radio, the World Peoples Assembly.
