The World Peoples Assembly took part in the 15th Session of the General Conference of the Islamic Organization for Education, Science and Culture
On May 13, 2026, Kazan hosted the 15th session of the General Conference of the Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ISESCO). The event became a part of the XVII International Economic Forum "Russia - the Islamic World: Kazanforum".
The delegation of the World Peoples Assembly at the conference included:
Yulia Petrova – Professor, Deputy Secretary General of the World Peoples Assembly;
Yaser Allaham - Advisor to the Secretary General of the World Peoples Assembly;
Alana Kochieva - Head of the Department for International Education and Partnership.
Welcoming remarks were made by:
Rustam Minnikhanov - Rais of the Republic of Tatarstan;
Tariq Ali Bakhit – Ambassador, Deputy Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation for Humanitarian, Cultural, Social and Family Affairs;
Sami bin Mohammed bin Abdullah Al-Sadhan - Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to the Russian Federation;
Abdel Aziz Kansua - Chairman of the ISESCO General Conference, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research of the Arab Republic of Egypt;
Salem bin Mohammed Al Malik - Director General of ISESCO.
"The Islamic world has a historic opportunity to boldly participate in shaping a new era, because our world has both material and human resources that allow to realize its great destiny as a reliable leader based on the greatest civilizational heritage of mankind," - said Salem bin Mohammed Al Malik, Director General of ISESCO.
During the event, it was also noted that ISESCO recognizes the important efforts made by the World Peoples Assembly in promoting intercultural dialogue, cooperation and interaction between different regions and communities. The parties confirmed their readiness to develop a long-term partnership and agreed on close cooperation. The main areas of cooperation will be the support of educational initiatives, the preservation of cultural heritage and the development of dialogue between peoples in the ISESCO member States.
