The World Peoples Assembly took part in the “Birskaya Starina” Festival in Bashkortostan

The staff and members of the Representative Office of the World Peoples Assembly in the Republic of Bashkortostan (Russia) participated in the large‑scale historical festival “Birskaya Starina,” which brought together more than 12,000 guests from Russia and abroad at the historical park “Birskaya Krepost” on August 22 and 23, 2026.

The event fully reflected the key values of the Assembly: preserving historical memory, respecting cultural heritage and strengthening the unity of Russia’s multi‑ethnic people. At the festival guests could look forward to seven stations representing different eras, demonstration battles, a showcase of historical cuisine titled “Forgotten Recipes,” a folklore program by the Kalinushka ensemble, a folk‑rock concert “Musket and Bagpipes,” and various master classes. The main event of the festival was the reconstruction “Hot Summer of 1941. First Victories” dedicated to Alexander Bagin, a native of Birsk city, a hero of the Great Patriotic War and senior lieutenant.

– The “Birskaya Starina” Festival is an entirely independent public initiative. And perhaps it is precisely such remarkable people who form the nation’s foundation. They recreate battles, costumes, weapons and the way of life of that time. It’s very interesting, — noted the head of Bashkortostan, Radiy Khabirov, during the event.

Representatives of the World Peoples Assembly emphasized that such events are an effective tool for people‑to‑people diplomacy and patriotic education. The joint exploration of historical eras at the festival venues clearly demonstrates the power of cultural dialogue and the unbreakable continuity of generations.
