World Peoples Assembly took part in the 40th International Book Fair in Tunis

The delegation of the World Peoples Assembly took part in the 40th International Book Fair in Tunis on April 24, 2026. The event became a part of the Assembly Days held in the Tunisian Republic on April 23 - 29.

The main event of the 40th International Book Fair was a creative meeting between Margarita Al, President of the World Organization of Writers (WOW), an avant-garde poet (Russia), and Ashraf Dali, Vice President of WOW Media Groups, writer and translator (Egypt), with readers and guests of the fair at the stand of the Russian House.

Books from WOW (Russia) and Silk Road (Egypt) publishers were presented during the event in Russian, Arabic and English. Visitors were able to get acquainted with modern examples of world literature, receive autographed books as a gift and personally communicate with the writers.

Participants recited poems in different languages in a creative and inspiring atmosphere. The meeting became a real celebration of cultural dialogue and literary diversity.

The event included the Grand Opening of the book stand of the members of the World Organization of Writers and the Literary Council of the World Peoples Assembly at the Russian House in Tunis.

Marina Ignatieva, Director of the Russian House in Tunis, was presented books from WOW Publishing House (Russia), and Ashraf Dali published by Silk Road Publishing House (Egypt). in Russian, Arabic and English and books "Russian Cosmism. Memory" and "Oath" by Alexandra Ochirova, illustrated by the artist Zurab Tsereteli.

The opening of the Stand was timed to coincide with the beginning of the Decade of Languages of the Peoples of the World, announced by the World Organization of Writers with the support of the World Peoples Assembly for 2026-2035. As part of this initiative, 2026 has been declared the Year of the Russian Language, and 2027 the Year of the Arabic Language, what attaches particular importance to the promotion of national literatures and intercultural dialogue.
