Opening of the International Media Club of the World Peoples Assembly took place in New Delhi

The first meeting of the International Media Club of the World Peoples Assembly "Media and Shared Values: Shaping a common future" took place on March 23, 2026 in New Delhi. The event became a significant part of the regional World Public Summit: India "New World: India in the architecture of a shared future."

The meeting was moderated by journalist, public figure, expert in international cultural cooperation, Official Secretary of the World Peoples Assembly Alena Dolgopolova.

During the meeting, Svetlana Smirnova, Chairman of the General Council of the World Peoples Assembly, presented key international projects of the Assembly aimed at developing public diplomacy, strengthening humanitarian cooperation and creating a space for dialogue and trust.

Today, the media is not only a source of information, but also a space for shaping meanings, trust and mutual understanding between peoples. That is why it is so important to develop international cooperation in this area based on the values of dialogue and responsibility," Svetlana Smirnova noted.

Evgeny Safronov, Head of the Media Center of the World Peoples Assembly, presented the development areas of international media cooperation and new formats of interaction with the global media community.

The event aroused great interest among the Summit participants. The discussion was attended by:

Dalbir Singh - Member of the Supreme Advisory Council of the World Peoples Assembly, President of the Foundation for Policy and Governance, Chairman of One Globe Forum (India);

Robin Nath Sachdev - President and Vice Chairman, Imagindia Institute (India);

Saurabh Kumar Uboweya - entrepreneur, founder and CEO of Brands of Desire, co-founder of the World Communication Forum Association (India);

Alexander Ageev - Director General of the International Research Institute of Management Problems, Chairman of the Scientific and Expert Council of the World Peoples Assembly, member of the Club of Rome (Russia);

Marlise Njenga - Editor-in-Chief of Valeurs Ajoutées Magazine, President of Global Horizon Group, Managing Partner Fiscal.com Group (Cameroon);

Galina Sapozhnikova - Honored Journalist of the Russian Federation, winner of the Golden Pen of Russia Award, author of a textbook on practical journalism (Russia),

and many other representatives of the international expert and media community.



During the discussion, the participants emphasized the increasing role of the media as a key tool for building trust, promoting the humanitarian agenda and developing public diplomacy in the context of global transformations.

Special attention was paid to the development of new media trends, media responsibility for shaping meanings, as well as the need to develop new formats of international media cooperation based on the values of dialogue, mutual understanding and respect for cultural diversity.

Following the meeting, the participants supported the initiative to create the International Media Club of the World Peoples Assembly as a permanent platform for interaction between representatives of the international media community aimed at developing value communication and strengthening global dialogue.
