The University of Jordan expressed its Readiness to Participate in the World Public Summit: Arab World
A meeting between the delegation of the World Peoples Assembly and the President of the University of Jordan, Professor Nather Obeidat, took place in Amman on July 9, 2026. The event was part of the working visit of the World Peoples Assembly to the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.
The main topic of the talks was the preparation of the World Public Summit: Arab World, scheduled to be held in Jordan in November 2026, as well as the development of international cooperation in the field of education and science.
Nather Obeidat emphasized the high level of Russian-Jordanian cooperation in the field of education and noted that the university successfully collaborates with leading Russian universities, including Moscow State University, Chechen State University, and St. Petersburg State University. He expressed interest in further expanding academic cooperation, including in such promising areas as space research and modern technologies.
Nather Obeidat paid special attention to the development of practice-oriented education. He spoke about the establishment of the Technological College at the University of Jordan, which offers seven educational programs aimed at training specialists in demand by the modern economy.
Secretary-General of the World Peoples Assembly Andrei Belyaninov noted that education is one of the key factors of sustainable development, strengthening mutual understanding between peoples, and preparing a new generation of leaders. He paid special attention to the development of the secondary vocational education system, emphasizing its role in training qualified personnel and expanding international educational cooperation.
Andrei Belyaninov also invited the President of the University of Jordan to take part in the World Public Assembly "New World: Values That Unite," which will take place in Moscow on September 18–19, 2026, and proposed that the University of Jordan take an active part in the preparation and work of the World Public Summit: Arab World, including the holding of an international session on education and a meeting of university leaders and rectors.
The President of the University of Jordan supported the initiative to hold the World Public Summit: Arab World, confirmed his readiness to participate in its work, and expressed interest in developing long-term cooperation with the World Peoples Assembly in the fields of education, science, academic exchanges, and public diplomacy.
The sides expressed confidence that the cooperation between the World Peoples Assembly and the University of Jordan will make an important contribution to the development of international educational and scientific cooperation, the strengthening of public diplomacy, and the expansion of humanitarian ties between countries and peoples.
