The World Peoples Assembly met with the delegation of the Chinese Committee of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization for Good-Neighborliness, Friendship and Cooperation to discuss the World Public Summit in China

A working meeting of the World Peoples Assembly with the delegation of the Chinese Committee of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization for Good-Neighborliness, Friendship and Cooperation (GCSC) took place on July 6, 2026, at the Moscow headquarters of the World Peoples Assembly. The event was held in the format of an open dialogue and became another step in the development of public diplomacy within the SCO space.

The meeting was attended by:

  • Andrei Belyaninov — Secretary-General of the World Peoples Assembly;

  • Svetlana Smirnova — Chairperson of the General Council of the World Peoples Assembly;

  • Cui Li — Deputy Chairman of the GCSC;

  • Zuo Hongbo — Secretary-General of the GCSC;

  • Yu Xueyong — Deputy Secretary-General of the GCSC;

  • Yang Huanyi — staff member of the GCSC;

  • Zhao Bing — staff member of the GCSC;

  • Li Yuran — First Secretary of the Embassy of the People's Republic of China in the Russian Federation;

  • Sergey Khanutin — Deputy Secretary-General of the World Peoples Assembly;

  • Stanislav Korolev — Deputy Secretary-General of the World Peoples Assembly;

  • Valery Ruzin — Deputy Secretary-General of the World Peoples Assembly;

  • Alena Dolgopolova — Secretary of State of the World Peoples Assembly.

The ceremonial prologue to the meeting was the opening of an exhibition by Russian artist Evgenia Ishchenko, a graduate of the Academy named after S. Andriyaka. Her works, permeated with images of Russian and Chinese cultural diversity, became the embodiment of the business agenda of the negotiations.

The central topics of discussion were:

  • participation of the Chinese side in the Second World Public Assembly "A New World: Values That Unite," which will take place on September 18–19, 2026, in Moscow;

  • the prospects for holding the World Public Summit in China in 2027;

  • joint projects on preserving historical memory, youth programs, expert exchanges, and participation in the International Competition "Leader of Public Diplomacy."

The Russian side presented a presentation of the upcoming Second World Public Assembly and a video about the First World Public Assembly "A New World of Conscious Unity" to clearly demonstrate the format and scale of the event.

Following the negotiations, the parties confirmed the agreements reached, outlined specific steps for implementing joint humanitarian projects in 2026–2027, and exchanged commemorative gifts. The meeting concluded with a friendly lunch in an informal atmosphere.
