The World Peoples Assembly took part in the International Meeting "Agroecology and Sustainable Agriculture: Russia-Guatemala Dialogue"
International meeting "Agroecology and sustainable agriculture: Russian-Guatemalan dialogue" was held on September 2, 2026 in anticipation of the II Agrarian-Ecological Forum of Russia and the Caribbean, which will take place as part of the Baikal International Environmental Congress.
The meeting is held by the organizing committee of the Baikal International Environmental Congress together with the Russian Embassy in Guatemala.
More than 60 experts from eight countries - Argentina, Brazil, Cuba, Guatemala, Peru, Kyrgyzstan, Belarus and Russia - came together to discuss the following:
Development of sustainable technologies for the production of critical enzymes, food and feed additives, veterinary medicines, new agricultural machinery and equipment;
Improvement of legislation in environmental management;
Preservation of cultural and natural heritage;
Restoration of land and water resources
The World Peoples Assembly was represented by the head of the Directorate of Sustainable Development Tatyana Augustmanova and the head of the Directorate for Development of International Education and Partnership Alana Kochieva.
As an organization with a UN mandate to conduct independent dialogues on food security and development of food systems and as a member of the organizing committee of the Baikal International Environmental Congress, the World Peoples Assembly is interested in further discussion. The international dialogue will continue within the Baikal International Environmental Congress, which will take place in Irkutsk from 24 to 27 September.
