Bakyt Rustemov, Co-Chairman of the Literary Council of Writers and Readers of the World Peoples Assembly from Kazakhstan, President of the International Commonwealth of People’s Diplomacy, and renowned Kazakh writer and poet, has won at the II International Competition “Eurasia–2026”. His large-scale international project “Literary Asia” took the honorary second place in the “Bridges of Friendship” nomination. The solemn award ceremony for the laureates took place on 14–15 October 2026 in Moscow. In total, 5,522 entrants from more than 170 countries worldwide took part in the competition.

During the award ceremony, Bakyt Rustemov noted that if in ancient times the Great Silk Road, which ran through the Kazakh steppes, ensured the material well-being of the peoples of Eurasia, then in the 21st century a new route - the “Great Spiritual Path” - originates from the heart of independent Kazakhstan, and the “Literary Asia” project has become its symbol.

The writer emphasized that the International Commonwealth of People’s Diplomacy, which he heads, holds numerous events, positioning Kazakhstan as a territory of high culture and spirituality.

- Receiving such a high award is for me not so much a personal success as a well-deserved recognition of a project that, through people’s diplomacy, unites writers from different countries, cultures and languages, strengthening friendship and mutual understanding between the peoples of Kazakhstan and Russia. Within the framework of the competition, I chose Russian as the main language of communication, making it open to authors from all over the world. In doing so, I strive to popularize Russian culture on five continents, uniting thousands of literary figures. At the same time, the organizers of the competition carefully support linguistic diversity, and authors presented their works in more than 80 languages of the world, – said Bakyt Rustemov.

He expressed firm conviction that it is literature that is capable of becoming a truly indestructible bridge of friendship between peoples.

The Eurasia Prize was established by the “Eurasia” organization together with Rossotrudnichestvo. The main mission of the project is to recognize people and organizations that make a significant contribution to the development of the Eurasian continent, promote the spread of the Russian language, carefully preserve traditional values, and strengthen good-neighborliness and cooperation between states.

The World Peoples Assembly congratulates Bakyt Rustemov on his well-deserved achievement, expresses deep gratitude for his tireless work to strengthen cultural ties and interethnic friendship, and wishes the writer new large-scale projects and further success on the noble path of public diplomacy.
