The International Public Forum "Gift to the Motherland" will take place on June 5, 2026, at the Moscow headquarters of the World Peoples Assembly. The event will bring together search teams, public organizations, educators, journalists, museum workers, historians, volunteers, descendants of frontline soldiers, and international partners of the World Peoples Assembly. Participants are expected from Russia, Kazakhstan, Belarus, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Slovakia, and other countries.

— Can the memory of war be preserved without large government programs? The participants of the international mega-project "Gift to the Motherland" believe it can. And they have been proving it through their actions for many years, — the project organizers say. — The forum will bring together the authors of over 130 public initiatives to preserve historical memory from different countries around the world, each backed by real people and real stories. Some search for the names of fallen soldiers and return them to their families. Some create a school museum or a digital book of memory. Some make documentaries about war heroes, restore military graves, collect memories of children of war, or conduct search expeditions. Together, these initiatives form a large international movement united by a common goal — to preserve the memory of the generation of victors and pass it on to the youth.

A special place in the program will be given to projects that help young people learn the history of their own families and through that discover the history of their country. Many initiatives have grown precisely from family archives, letters, photographs, and memories passed down from generation to generation.

The forum will be opened by Secretary General of the World Peoples Assembly Andrey Belyaninov. A welcome address will also be delivered by President of the Civil Alliance of Kazakhstan Banu Nurgaziyeva.

The moderators of the meeting will be Deputy Secretary General of the World Peoples Assembly Valery Ruzin and Chair of the Council for the Preservation of Historical Memory of the World Peoples Assembly, Professor Laila Akhmetova, thanks to whose initiative and many years of work the mega-project has brought together hundreds of participants and dozens of public initiatives in different countries.

The forum will be held in a mixed format (online/offline) with the connection of international partners and will serve as a platform not only for summarizing results but also for developing new international projects in the field of preserving historical memory.
